One of my New Year’s resolutions is to become less of a technological luddite. Somewhere in between Instagram and Snapchat, I became that old guy who has to get someone to help him set up his phone (this is a true story). But hardware aside, I really want to learn how to write some basic code. It’s the new Mandarin, if you ask me. Almost everything that matters is published in code.
But seriously.
In my search, I came across this introductory guid. Caveat: this infographic is already a bit out of date. Apple has moved on to Swift as its new coding language of choice.

what about code for non web or app based functions like VBA or Matlab? Also I think these average salaries are very high so I’d be interested to know what the avg number of years experience is to get those avg salaries
I recommend python by the way, or maybe VBA if you use excel a lot
