This may be a nerdy thing to know, but the 2017 Nobel prize for economics will be announced on Monday. And every year, I usually write about the winner(s). This year, the rumour mill has some new names and fields of study on the potential list. In particular, I see people on reddit talk about neuroeconomics.

So I thought I’d share this talk on neuroeconomics from Michael Platt, which was given at Davos (ie. the World Economic Forum). It’s about ten minutes long:

I mean, it’s just a sexier name for behavioural science. But when people start saying that this kind of science was what guided the Trump campaign, it deserves our attention.
